Northern Frontiers, Northern Homeland:
The Report of the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Inquiry - Berger Report (1977)
The Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Inquiry, also know as the Berger Inquiry, was commissioned in 1974 by the Government of Canada to investigate the social, economic and environmental impact of a proposed gas pipeline running through the Yukon and Mackenzie River valley of the Northwest Territories.
The commission recommended that no pipeline be built through the northern Yukon and that a pipeline through the Mackenzie Rive valley should be delayed for at least ten years.
